Guided conversations for estranged families.

THERE IS A SEAT AT THE TABLE FOR YOU.

A compassionate space for estranged parents, grandparents, adult children and siblings to be heard, gain understanding, communicate clearly, and consider that, although you can’t change the past, you do get to explore what possibilities there are for the future.

WHERE EVERY STORY MATTERS

Estrangement is rarely one simple event. It often includes years of hurt, misunderstandings, unmet needs, broken trust, silence, and grief. A Seat at the Table creates a structured environment where each person can speak honestly without blame, interruption, or pressure.

A place to listen and be heard.

CAREFUL PREPARATION

Before we take a
seat at the table.

Whether you are an estranged parent, grandparent, adult son, daughter, or sibling thank you for considering this conversation.

  • Choosing to come to the table is an act of courage.

  • Every guided conversation is facilitated by trained coaches.

  • Our role is not to determine who is right or wrong. We are not judges, mediators, or arbitrators.

  • We are compassionate Transformational Life Coaches who create a safe space where each person has the opportunity to speak honestly, listen respectfully, and better understand one another.

A thoughtful conversation- how it works.

Private Preparation

Each person begins independently with a separate reflection form to help clarify their story in order to communicate it with honesty and respect. Then you will meet with a coach for one hour to prepare you for the seat at the table.

The Conversation

We will set an appointment for a guided 2.5-hour conversation with structure, support and space for both stories to be heard along with some clarifying questions from your coach.

Next Steps

At the end of the process, each person will have the opportunity to share their initial thoughts about moving forward. Based on each person's response, we will discuss the options available, whether both wish to continue or one chooses a different path. Remember, most people in this situation are not trying to hurt one another; they are often carrying pain and are in need of healing.

*If you would like to offer A Seat at the Table for an estranged family member, we will reach out to them on your behalf through e-mail, phone call or by mail.

WHO THIS IS FOR

For parents, grandparents, adult children or siblings.

This process is for people who are willing to approach the conversation with honesty, humility, and respect. Reconciliation is never forced, and no outcome is guaranteed. The first goal is to listen and be heard.

You want to express your experience without attacking or blaming.

You are willing to listen to a different version of the story.

You want clarity, healthier communication or a possible path forward.

You understand that boundaries and emotional safety matter.

What This Space is Built On

Every person deserves dignity.

Listening does not automatically mean agreement.

Accountability and compassion can exist together.

Forgiveness and reconciliation are not the same thing.

Healing may include connection, clarity, boundaries and closure.
